The Maxi Dress for Summer Fashion

The maxi dress is back and it is a fashion hit for the summer. For those unfamiliar with the maxi dress it is a long casual dress that in the past has been worn as a cover up for the beach or just as a very casual summer dress. The maxi dress has gotten a makeover this year though and is being seen on celebrities out for a casual stroll and even on the red carpet.

One of the best things about the maxi dress is that it can be worn by anyone and any body shape. They are loose and comfortable and be dressed up or down for any occasion. Before running out to buy one of these great dresses there are a few things you should take into consideration. Even though they are loose and comfortable, they do come in different styles so it is important to get the right one for your body type.

Choose an empire waist if you are on the shorter side, and wear it with higher heeled sandles to help make you look longer. If you have curves, choose a solid color or a very small pattern. If you are larger on the bottom, find a maxi dress that has a great looking neckline so the focus is up and not down.

For any shape, make sure you choose a dress that does not have a large amount of fabric. To much fabric will not be flattering for any shape, not matter what size you are. Don’t forget to accessorize as well, and don’t be afraid to throw a jacket on over it for cool evenings.

Winter Fashion

When it comes to our clothing, we love the summer months. We get the chance to show off our arms and legs with shorts and tank tops. As much as we love to wear cute clothes in the summer months, we shouldn’t let winter discourage us. There is plenty of fashionable clothing that we can wear during the winter months.

You can make a sweatshirt look adorable, and still stay warm. There is such a variety of sweatshirts out there such as hooded sweatshirts, button down sweatshirts, and many more. This is a good choice to wear during winter because the long sleeves will keep you warm indoors when the weather makes it chilly.

Boots are a great choice of footwear in the winter because they will keep the snow out, and can be quite fashionable. There is a difference between boots made for trekking through snow and ones created for fashion purposes. You may not want to use fashionable ones if you plan to spend a lot of time outside, because they are not as warm, but if you’re simply walking from place to place, you may want to consider them for your winter footwear.

Winter jackets can also be fashionable. There are plenty of jackets that you wouldn’t ever wear, but you can find cute jackets, too, that will keep you warm during the winter months and look great. Many clothing stores sell warm jackets around winter, so you may want to check out some of your favorite stores for cute winter jackets.

Just because you buy a tank top for the summer months doesn’t mean you can’t wear it during the winter. Wear the tank top with something over it so you can show it off and stay warm. You may want to wear a button down sweatshirt or a cute t-shirt that obviously needs something worn under it.

Cut The Cost of Clothing

We can all testify that the cost of a wardrobe is expensive. We buy a little here and there, but even that can cost a few hundred dollars each shopping trip. Clothing is an essential, but can prove to be expensive. You can easily cut the cost of your clothing by becoming a smarter shopper.

You don’t always have to buy cheaper to save money. You may want to consider how durable the clothing you are buying is and how long it will last. A pair of pants that are more expensive, but will last longer is a better buy than a cheaper pair that will wear out soon after you buy it. When you shop, look for clothes that will last you longer.

You can save money by looking at the sales racks. You don’t have to do all your shopping off the sales racks, but if you can find something that you will wear and is a good deal, then go for it.

Don’t buy clothes you will never wear. Just because you find a good deal doesn’t mean you have to go with it. If you buy something you will never wear, you are wasting that money where you could use it on something else instead. Don’t let great deals trick you unless you are really going to take advantage of that deal and wear that piece of clothing often.

Don’t buy clothes that you don’t need. This will just waste even more of your money because you will be less likely to ever use it. If you need more pants than shirts, shop exclusively for pants. If you don’t need it, you probably won’t wear it often, so try shopping only for the clothes that you need at the time.

Take good care of your clothes. The longer your clothes stay in good shape, the less you will have to go shopping. This is also why you should buy durable clothing, so that your clothing will last you longer and you don’t have to spend money as often.

Celebrities Stay Dry and Stylish in Wet Winter Weather

A lot has been written about how celebrities stay warm and fashionable at the same time in winter. Winter makes people think of cold and snow. But some areas of the world, such as Hollywood, don’t get as cold as other places, nor do they see snow. What they may see a lot of during the colder winter months is rain. How do Hollywood’s starlets stay warm and dry, yet fashionable, when the cold winter rain comes down? By wearing the latest trends in wet gear.

One of the most stylish trends this season is animal prints. Celebrities like Katie Holmes are finding this trend in various rain gear to stay dry this winter, including ponchos and boots. Seal and Heidi Klum were caught in a surprise rainstorm close to Christmas, but managed to stay dry and comfortable in long trench coats and holding stylish umbrellas, the fashion accessory to have on hand when it’s wet outside. Denise Richards kept herself and her kids dry and comfortable in the rain with colorful raincoats, boots, and gloves. Jennifer Love Hewitt opted for a hooded jacket in place of an umbrella.

So many styles, so many choices. When preparing for rainy weather, it’s important to remember that staying dry is top priority. There are plenty of stylish rain gear available this season, in an array of colors. Shoppers will find a mix of raincoats, ponchos, boots, goulashes, and umbrellas to suite their individual styles. The colder the rain in their area, the warmer the gear has to be. They can try layering their clothes, such as a warm sweater under a sleek rain coat, to stay not only dry, but warm and cozy too.

Other fashionable accessories shoppers may want to choose from to stay both dry and warm include thick socks, scarves, gloves, and hats. They too are available in a wide range of styles and colors, including all of this season’s latest looks.

Knowing What to Wear and When to Wear It

When it comes to fashion, seasonal or otherwise, it can be a struggle knowing what to wear for various occasions. This can be especially hard during the winter months when one needs to be warm but remain fashionable as well.

Men tend to have it easier when it comes to knowing what to wear since their choices are limited. Women on the other hand can have difficulty knowing what is appropriate for some functions. The terms used on some invitations can throw off even the most fashion conscious.

Some of the popular terms that cause confusion include business casual, smart casual, casual, formal, semi-formal and a host of similar terms. Adding to the confusion is the need to wear seasonally appropriate clothing as well. In winter dressing nicely still is important, but one has to find the right coat and shoes to go with their outfit.

For men business casual generally calls for a nice pants and shirt without a jacket. For women, a suit with a feminine blouse in soft colors, tailored pants or skirt is ideal. These can be accessorized with simple jewelry such as a string of pearls. A nice pair of pumps can finish the look.

It’s hard to go wrong with a nice black dress. No wonder most women have a little black dress for most occasions. Black is generally a safe color for most events. Of course, by itself it is not generally worn at weddings. It is the same with white, as rarely does anyone but the bride wear white to a wedding.

Almost as important as the outfit itself are the shoes and handbag. For women, these items have to complement the dress, but there is also the issue of what type of shoes is appropriate. This is dependent on the occasion, time of day and of course, the type of surface at the location of the event.
