It has always been said that every woman should have a little black dress in her closet. This is the go to dress for any evening event where you are not sure what you should wear. It is appropriate for all different kinds of occasions, and can eaily be thrown on, but you will look like a million dollars

So how do you find the right little black dress to keep in your closet? It is important to shop for your body type. Since they come in all different shapes and sizes, just like women come in all different shapes and sizes, you can always find just the right one. Make sure you are shopping for your body type when you are looking for your dress.

If you have a fuller lower half, look for a dress that is fitted on the top, but then just skims loosely over your lower half. If you have a smaller frame, look for a dress that is slimmer and longer to help make you look longer. If you are on the smaller side, stay away from “cute” to help keep you from looking like a little girl.

For those who have broader shoulders, you can camouflage this with asymmetrical necklines. Try a dress with just one strap, and dresses that have the same amount of volume from top to bottom. It is best to stay away from dresses that are very form fitting on the top and wider at the bottom, since this will accentuate your top half.

No matter what your body type is, you can always find the perfect little black dress for any occasion.

The little black dress. This dress will work for almost any kind of wedding. Whether it is a formal evening wedding or a casual day wedding, the little black dress will always be appropriate.

Floral print dresses. A fun floral print is a good dress to wear to a summer wedding or a wedding in the spring. You can even dress these up if you are attending an evening wedding, or a more casual sundress for a daytime wedding.

The party dress. A party dress is what you should look for when you are expected to dress festively. A party dress should be about knee length with fun bright colors if you can. A cocktail dress would also work for a festive evening wedding.

A smart dress. Although not as common, there may be a time when you attend a formal daytime wedding. In this case you can wear a smart looking short dress, or even a suit. Go for a sophisticated look with bright colors. In this case you should stay away from black so you don’t look stuffy. You can also wear fun accessories to brighten up your look as well.

The Maxi Dress for Summer Fashion

The maxi dress is back and it is a fashion hit for the summer. For those unfamiliar with the maxi dress it is a long casual dress that in the past has been worn as a cover up for the beach or just as a very casual summer dress. The maxi dress has gotten a makeover this year though and is being seen on celebrities out for a casual stroll and even on the red carpet.

One of the best things about the maxi dress is that it can be worn by anyone and any body shape. They are loose and comfortable and be dressed up or down for any occasion. Before running out to buy one of these great dresses there are a few things you should take into consideration. Even though they are loose and comfortable, they do come in different styles so it is important to get the right one for your body type.

Choose an empire waist if you are on the shorter side, and wear it with higher heeled sandles to help make you look longer. If you have curves, choose a solid color or a very small pattern. If you are larger on the bottom, find a maxi dress that has a great looking neckline so the focus is up and not down.

For any shape, make sure you choose a dress that does not have a large amount of fabric. To much fabric will not be flattering for any shape, not matter what size you are. Don’t forget to accessorize as well, and don’t be afraid to throw a jacket on over it for cool evenings.

Is Nude the New Black?

The fashion world can change in the blink of an eye. What was all the rave today may be totally out of place tomorrow! Fashions change quickly, just like the seasons of the year. Each season the colors of our world change, and in just the same way the fashions change: warm clothes for the winter, cooler clothes for the summer.

One of the latest fashions that has come about is that called “Nude Layering” or Nude fashion. Nude layering isn’t a model walking about in her or his birthday suit but is the concept of starting off with a simple dress (usually one piece) and layering colors on it as you go, a very simple and effective way of making an outfit up. One place to get a good deal on the dresses is http://www.offers.com; they can help with any budget.

The “nude” concept has actually been around for a few years and originally started in Japan in the mid nineteen-nineties, but only recently caught on because of the celebrity exposure; we’ve recently seen the impact of the media spotting a few of the “right people” wearing the garments, giving “Nude” a major boost in popularity.

Fashion does change with the seasons, but some things will stay “in fashion” for much longer than others, especially the colors. They tend to hang around for a while, and while they may fade from the scene, they can come back too. In every case, knowing where to get the best fashion deals is a great accessory! Black was in fashion last season, but now it’s Nude.

It seems many of us are fascinated by celebrities. We read magazines and keep up with celebrity trends online. Many of us want to look and dress like celebrities. Who wouldn’t? They seem to have a different fashion sense that the average person.

It’s no wonder they have a certain style. Most celebrities have large amounts of money, as well as stylists and consultants to help them maintain their looks. While this does give them a certain advantage, this doesn’t mean that you can’t look like a celebrity. Here are a few tips that can help you out — even if you are on a budget.

Choose a Mentor

Find a celebrity that represents the style you want to reflect. You should choose a celebrity whose body type is similar to yours. It doesn’t make sense to try to fit into fashions of an ultra-thin celebrity, when your body type might be a bit on the heavy side.

Use Magazines

Read celebrity-based magazines such as People. Tear out photos of your favorite celebrity and use these as a resource. Many of these magazines feature articles on how to dress like your favorite celebrity while choose lower-priced outfits and clothing.

Wouldn’t it be great if you could attend all those fabulous runway shows such as New York’s Fashion Week? If you could do that, you would be on top of the latest and greatest fashion trends. Unfortunately, most of us don’t have the ability to do that; however, that’s no reason why you can’t keep up on the trends that are shown during this amazing fashion event. Here’s some easy ways to keep your finger on these fashions.

Watch programs on networks such as Style Network that feature top designers and their fashions. In addition, subscribe to fashion magazines as these publications always feature the latest trends.

Make sure you understand that most of the fashions that appear on the runway may not be suitable for everyday wear  — most of them are not even meant to do that. You should choose what you truly love and try to emulate those. Forget about the others that just won’t be suitable.

After you pick out your favorites, put your own style spin on it. You should do things like take the basic style, but choose it in a color that is more suitable to your tastes.

Most of the fashions that appear on the runways are out of the price range of the average budget. However, you can look for more affordable similar pieces at your local department stores or online.

Fashion trends change quickly, so you need to understand that you may not be able to keep up with these quick changes unless you actually do have an endless income. Adopt your favorite pieces and mix them with last season’s fashions.

How to Mix and Match Patterns

There was a time when mixing patterns when choosing or putting together an outfit was strictly forbidden. It was completely unheard of to mix patterns. However, times have changed and right now mixing clothing patterns is one of hottest fashion trends out there. Nevertheless, you don’t want to mix all those patterns incorrectly and end up looking like you got dressed in the dark. Here are a few tips to help you gain style while mixing those patterns.

When mixing patterns, make sure that you stay within the same color palette. Choose patterns that are in the same hue and if you can, choose patterns with the same colors in each. For instance, you can put together browns and oranges, but don’t put those colors with pinks and greens.

Choose patterns that are different sizes. You can pair a large plaid pattern with a small, delicate pattern very successfully.

Try polka dots. These patterns are easy to mix because they don’t have a lot of details and will mix very well with many other patterns.

Make sure that at least one piece of the outfit is tailored. This will prevent you from looking like a piece of drapery. For instance, choose a flowing skirt in conjunction with a fitted blouse. You can also try a pencil or A-line skirt with a more boxy shirt.

Use accessories. Don’t just limit the pattern mixing to tops and bottoms. Use scarves, shoes, belts and hats that can accentuate the chosen patterns. Also, use your jewelry sparingly as it will take away from the statement your clothing is already making.

Being fashionable while working out may not always be a priority. After all, you’re focused on working your muscles, stretching beyond your limits and achieving your fitness goal. When you’re busy sweating, fashion trends may be the last thing on your mind. However, investing in Nike athletic clothing and buying a few sets of workout gear may be just what the fashion doctor ordered. All it takes is a little bit of time and attention to become fashionable when working out.

The Psychology of Looking Good While Working Out

Some people associate working out with being sweaty, straining and rushing to finish the workout. When at the gym you might have looked over and noticed your fellow step-climber or aerobics classmate sporting the latest athletic gear. Fashionable athletic people are energizing. When your athletic clothing fits well, with colors that complement your skin tone and hair color, catching a glimpse of yourself in the gym mirror is a pleasant experience. It motivates you to return to the gym in your Nike Athletic Clothing. This is a far cry from a person who feels discouraged by a reflection of herself in a store window as she jogs by wearing ill-fitting, mismatched workout clothing.

Choosing the Right Colors and Fit

Comfort is important when working out. Choose fabrics that feel good to the skin. Black is a slimming color. Wear it to slim body parts that are not yet to your liking. Always splash a bit of color in your workout gear in the form of bright colored tops or multi-cultured Nike athletic shoes.

Vintage Revival in Spring Style

This spring the sunny colors and styles of the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s are making yet another comeback in an updated way.  The perky yellows, lime greens, and lilacs that permeated the fashion and counterculture world of the 1960s are back in a wearable way. Try investing in a brightly colored A-line shaped coat, and vintage-style jumpsuits. The luminous draped dresses of the 1970s are also on the rise, particularly in metallic colors and styles that are intended for dancing, in true disco revival style.
The ripples of 1970s fashion are also making themselves felt in the rebirth of high-waisted jeans, particularly monochromatically and with a bit of a flare.  Designers recommend straightened hair and big earrings to complement this casual look.  The fashion of the 1980s makes itself felt in the renewal of the preppy yuppie look that was popular then;  this can be pulled off with classic yacht-wear, incorporated sea tones—particularly crisp whites and deep blues—and straw into your wardrobe.
The comeback of vintage style is also making itself felt in face makeup.  The spring trend is heavy eye, reminiscent of the 1970s, using the majority of makeup on the eyelid—including metallic shades and neon colors—and keeping the rest of the face neutral.  Thick eyebrows and big hair, another trend of the 1970s and 1980s, are back in.  However, this style demands maintenance to keep hair and eyebrows looking prominent and orderly rather than bushy and unmanageable.  Some pieces that are already in your wardrobe or cosmetic box can be utilized in conjunction with the new, chic fashions of spring to update your look.

Fashion on a Budget

Many people want to look just as fashionable and stylish as their favorite celebrities. This is especially true when seasons change and new styles come out.If you want to update your wardrobe with the current fashion trends without breaking the bank, a little planning will help you look like you just stepped off the runway for less:

  • Know what you want. Whether you want to copy a celebrity’s everyday style for running errands or you want to look glamorous for a special event, know what you want to purchase, or at least have an idea of outfits you want to buy, before you go shopping. This could range from the perfect pair of shoes to a stylish summer outfit for an upcoming vacation.
  • Use a budget. Set a limit of how much you want to spend, and stick to it. A prepaid card is ideal for this, as it will only allow you to use the amount of money you have in your prepaid account. There is no need to worry about overcharging your card and getting hit with expensive fees. There are many different types of cards, including the Reach Prepaid Card.
  • Shop around. You can save the most money when shopping by visiting a variety of different stores instead of purchasing the very first things you see. You can always have the sales clerk hold an item for a few hours while you shop around, then return for it if you can’t find a better deal.

Saving money and looking stylish is possible when you follow these shopping tips.
